When will Man City play game-in-hand over Arsenal? Date for Brighton clash up in the air amid Champions League success
Manchester City will continue to hunt Premier League leaders Arsenal as the title race looks set to go down to the wire.
Pep Guardiola’s defending champions have now closed the gap to the Gunners to four points and they also have a game in hand.
City beat Leicester 3-1 before Arsenal dropped points for the second consecutive game, drawing 2-2 with West Ham on Sunday.
The Citizens know regardless of other results they have a guaranteed chance to further reduce the gap to Arsenal when the two sides play each other this month.
And that would give City the edge in the title race heading into their game in hand due to the club’s superior goal difference.
When will Man City play game-in-hand over Arsenal?
As of yet, the Premier League have not confirmed the date for City to play their game-in-hand against Brighton.
The Etihad outfit were set to face the high-flying Seagulls just four days before facing Arsenal on Saturday, April 22.
But the fixture was postponed with City in FA Cup semi-final action at Wembley against Sheffield United instead.

Confirmation of a new date to face Brighton will prove tricky with City’s Champions League success.
Erling Haaland and co have one foot in the competition’s semi-finals already following their 3-0 first-leg win over Bayern Munich.
Should the Bavarians perform a miraculous second-leg comeback then that would leave City with two free midweeks in mid-May when the Champions League last four fixtures are scheduled to take place.
But if, as expected, City go through then they will be on European duty on May 9 and May 16, two days after the Mancunian’s battle Leeds and Everton in the Premier League respectively.
This leaves only the week commencing May 22 for domestic bosses to organise City’s game against Brighton.
City face Chelsea on Saturday, May 20 before the Premier League season finishes on Sunday, May 28 with a trip to Brentford.
The most probable date for City vs Brighton is, therefore, Wednesday, May 24.
