Watch: ‘23 properties like Jordan’ – Alex Iwobi drops bars on life beyond football in new single ‘What’s luv?’
Fulham midfielder and Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi continues to showcase his talents in his new single, “What’s Luv?”, where he candidly reflects on life beyond football, Soccernet.ng reports.
Following his debut track, Don’t Shoot, Iwobi made headlines by becoming the first Premier League player to release an official single under his own name.
He follows in the footsteps of his iconic uncle, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, who also dabbled in music during his career to add a unique spin to his career path.
In What’s Luv?, Iwobi collaborates with close friend and rapper SPKS, along with rising Afrobeat artist MBrown, to create a blend of Afro-Swing and Rap that celebrates his Nigerian heritage with upbeat rhythms and lyrical swagger.

Produced by London-based EM1X, the track brings African culture to the forefront of Iwobi’s musical expression to reflect his roots and passion for the art.
What’s Luv? explores themes of love and identity, with MBrown introducing the track by questioning modern relationships, while SPKS and Iwobi layer in reflections on their experiences.
“Chasing the dream ’cause I’m living my reality… Michael Jordan trips, I got 23 properties,” Iwobi raps.
In Iwobi’s lyrics, Michael Jordan is known for his substantial real estate portfolio, but the exact number of properties he owns is not publicly detailed.
However, his reference to “23 properties” could likely serve as a metaphorical expression of wealth and success, having drawn Jordan’s iconic jersey number 23 rather than an actual count of his properties.
Following his uncle Okocha’s spirit of blending sport and entertainment, Iwobi continues the family tradition of embracing creativity on and off the field.
