Tottenham vs West Ham LIVE: Antonio Conte to miss London derby as Spurs look to return to winning ways against struggling Hammers – kick-off time, team news and how to watch

Tottenham face West Ham in a London derby this weekend with both teams looking for an important result in the Premier League.

Spurs will be hoping to get back to winning ways after being heavily beaten by Leicester before also losing to AC Milan in the Champions League in midweek.

Spurs have lost both of their games in the last week

The hosts are set to be without manager Antonio Conte on the sidelines after he revealed he would be staying in Italy after a check-up following gallbladder surgery.

Assistant boss Cristian Stellini will instead take charge of the Lilywhites, who have the chance to move into the Premier League’s top four with a win.

As for the Hammers, two draws in a row against tough opposition in Chelsea and Newcastle have raised spirits in recent weeks.

But David Moyes will be aiming to turn those draws into a win as they continue to languish only two points above the relegation zone.

Tottenham vs West Ham: Team news

The hosts are being forced to deal with an injury crisis with only three senior centre midfielders available.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Oliver Skipp and Pape Matar Sarr are fit while Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma are set to miss the remainder of the season through injury.

To make matters worse, defender Cristian Romero is suspended for the clash after being sent off against Manchester City.

Lucas Paqueta was substituted early on with a shoulder injury against Chelsea last weekend and he will be sidelined for a couple of weeks.

While Nayef Aguerd was also withdrawn with a knock and he now faces a battle to be fit for Sunday’s London derby.

Tottenham vs West Ham: What has been said?

Spurs boss Antonio Conte released a statement as he confirmed he has been advised to remain in Italy by his doctors.

“The doctor’s recommendation is to stay calm for 15 days,” Conte revealed. “He had advised me not to return, but you have a sense of responsibility that you want to stay every moment with your players, to breathe the environment in every situation.

“I’m trying to manage it in the best way, certainly during the match I can’t let the players hear me as much as I would like. Now I’m feeling much better than before.

“I’m not still 100 percent but I think I’m recovering well, it’s very important for me to stay with the team, work with them and try to stay together in a difficult moment for us. Because in the last period we were not so lucky, because three surgeries — me and two surgeries for the players.

“In the last seven days we had four serious injuries. For this season, I think to stay together is very important and try to create the right spirit, to help each other much more than before to work together and overcome this difficult period.”
