Super Boniface helps Bayer Leverkusen match 44-year Bundesliga record in big win against Eintracht Frankfurt
Boniface has been superb this season, and he just seems unstoppable at the moment
Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface registered a goal and an assist for Bayer Leverkusen in their record-equalling 3-0 bashing of Eintracht Frankfurt, Soccernet.ng reports.
Boniface has been talismanic for Die Werkself since he joined the club in the summer, and he had a big test when Eintracht Frankfurt visited BayArena.
Die Adler entered the game with an abysmal form after losing four of their previous five, and with Bayer Leverkusen’s firepower, Die Werkself looked poised for the kill.
They needed just 14 minutes to jump into the lead, and it was Boniface who showed his goalscoring prowess once again. He received the ball from midfield and dashed forward into the box. Despite being marked by Eintracht Frankfurt, he managed to cut in, and sent a low curler into the net to make it 1-0 for Die Werkself.

Boniface’s goal was the major form of excitement that the first half had. But Xabi Alonso men still had more in store for the second half.
Jeremie Frimpong scored the second for Die Werkself in the 51st minute to give Die Werkself a cushion.
Then, in the 57th minute, Bayer Leverkusen scored their third. This time, Boniface turned creator, as he just set up Florian Wirtz nicely with a beautiful pass. The German midfielder just smashed the ball home to make it 3-0 and seal the win for Bayer Leverkusen.
Boniface had 72 minutes of action before he was taken off for Patrik Schick.
Consequently, Bayer Leverkusen’s win means that they have not lost any or their 24 competitive games this season. The last team to achieve such a feat was Hamburger SV Iin the 1982/1983 season.
24 – Bayer 04 Leverkusen have not lost any of their 24 competitive games this season (W21 D3), in German professional football only Hamburger SV in 1982-83 had an equally long unbeaten run to start a season (24 games). Invincibles? #B04SGE pic.twitter.com/ueZw1CXNUg
