Spurs star unlikely to play for club again after agreeing move elsewhere
Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to continue their fine start to the new season when they face Luton Town on Saturday.
Ange Postecoglou has enjoyed a successful start to his tenure at the club, with Spurs currently sitting second in the Premier League table having won five of their seven games so far.
The Lilywhites have beaten both Manchester United and Liverpool so far, and also held rivals Arsenal to a 2-2 draw in the North London derby.
Spurs will face a Luton side that picked up their first ever Premier League win last weekend, beating struggling Everton 2-1 at Goodison Park.
Ahead of the game, though, it appears that one of Postecoglou’s players may have played his last game for the club.
According to Football Insider, wing-back Ivan Perisic has played his last game for the club after agreeing a move to Croatian side Hajduk Split.
The 34-year-old only joined Tottenham last summer, but the report claims that he has verbally agreed to join Hajduk when his contract expires at the end of the current season.
Perisic is currently sidelined with an anterior cruciate ligament injury that will likely keep him out of action for the rest of this term, meaning that he has likely played his final game for the club already.
The report claims that the 129-time Croatia international has been given the green light to return to his homeland and join Hajduk, who currently lead the Croatian top flight table.
In total Perisic has made 50 appearances across all competitions for Spurs, providing 14 assists.
He scored his only goal for the club during a 3-3 draw against Southampton in the Premier League last term.
It is also claimed that Spurs had discussed the possibility of Perisic joining Hajduk in January, with the move touted during negotiations over Tottenham’s newest signing, Luka Vuskovic.
