Snl24 | Angry families want soccer player to rot in jail
Nine-year-old Gomolemo Mavimbela died in a horrific accident on Tuesday, 29 October.
FAMILIES of accident victims want soccer star Shaune Mogaila (29) not to be treated with kid gloves.
They fear he might get a lighter sentence, or his case will disappear because he has money.
Sekhukhune soccer player Mogaila was involved in an accident in which two people sustained serious injuries and a nine-year-old schoolgirl died on Tuesday, 29 October.
Mogaila is still to appear in court.
“We saw bottles of booze and drugs inside the car, it shows this person was drunk and falling asleep. We want this to be a lesson to other elites that they can’t get way with crime just because they have money,” said uncle Sifiso Sikhosana.
The families from Leboeng section in Thembisa, Ekurhuleni, are struggling to come to terms with what had happened.

They say the video, which has been doing the rounds on social media, has traumatised them even more.
“That was a horrific thing to watch. The way my niece died will forever remain with us. With such evidence against him, it’ll be unfair on us for him to get away with crime.”

Gomolemo’s mum is still in hospital.
Sifiso said he received a call on Tuesday morning from his niece’s dad, around 8am that they were involved in accident in Phomolong near Thembisa.
“When we got there, we saw the alcohol inside the car and some drugs. We’re not okay. This was a nine-year-old with a great future ahead of her and we welcome any kind of support,” he said.
Meanwhile, the 13-year-old boy’s aunt said they were asking for prayers.
“My nephew is still unconscious, and we hope for the better. As for the person who did this, we appeal for justice to prevail. The victims never asked for this,” she said.
