Orlando Pirates’ Selaelo Rasebotja could make his debut against his former side SuperSport United.

The new PSL season will kick off with the MTN8 and Soccer Laduma looks at five new signings who could make an impact at their clubs.

The MTN8 starts this Saturday and Sunday, with two fixtures, while the other two quarter-finals will be played the following weekend. Soccer Laduma looks at five signings to look out for in the last eight.

Selaelo Rasebotja (Orlando Pirates)

It could turn out to be a similar story to that of Thalente Mbatha, who joined Pirates from SuperSport United and became a hit. Rasebotja has signed for the Buccaneers from Matsatsantsa after struggling to break into Gavin Hunt’s team, but he could enjoy being at Pirates because of the style of play. He could get an opportunity when Pirates face his former side SuperSport this Saturday.

Kobamelo Kodisang (Mamelodi Sundowns)

Sundowns supporters will be eagerly waiting to see what playing in Europe has done for Kodisang’s game. He’s been part of the pre-season preparations after joining them from Portuguese side Moreirense. With his pace and skill, the former Platinum Stars and Bidvest Wits player may not struggle to fit into the system at Sundowns, but competition will be tight for a place in the starting line-up.

Haashim Domingo (Cape Town City)

Back in South Africa after a spell in Morocco with Raja Casablanca, Domingo must be itching to get going, especially because he did not get much of a run while he was in North Africa. The former Mamelodi Sundowns player has joined a club that suits the way he plays and this could be where he finally shows his true potential. City travel to Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane to take on Sekhukhune United and the 28-year-old looks set to make his debut.

Omega Mdaka (Stellenbosch FC)

The former Kaizer Chiefs left back has joined his first professional club in the top flight and is in an environment where there is opportunity for growth. A number of youngsters have come through at Stellenbosch and have been given a fair chance to prove themselves. It’s not likely to be any different for the young left back, who is comfortable on the ball and has the ability to get into the opposition half and become part of the attack.

Vincent Pule (SuperSport United)

Like Rasebotja, Pule could face his former team. Now in the colours of SuperSport United, Pule will have an opportunity to shine against his former side Pirates this weekend. He is probably raring to go after struggling to break into the starting line-up regularly last season.
