Soccernet.ng collates the round-up of all the games and notable events that occurred in the NPFL this weekend where six wins and two draws were recorded.

Remo-Stars kicked NPFL Matchday 23 off at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne and were on the front foot for most of the game.

Adams Olamilekan came off the bench to score the only goal of the game against Bayelsa United in the 70th minute to take Daniel Ogunmodede’s men to 39 points this season and raise their anticipation for next weekend’s South West derby against Sporting Lagos.

Heartland and Sunshine stars played a 1-1 draw at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Imo, while Lobi Stars tormented Katsina United at home, as goals from Ekioke and Alao Danbani took the Ortom boys to the top of the league.

Enugu Rangers CEO, Amobi Ezeaku made his debut as a footballer at the age of 34 in Rangers’ 2-0 win over Niger Tornadoes, while Plateau United defeated Monday Odigie’s Bendel Insurance by two goals to none.

Sporting Lagos held on for a goalless draw against Doma United after Mike Zaruma was given his marching orders at the Pantami  Stadium, giving the noisy Lagosians a boost ahead of their scintillating derby clash against Remo Stars next week Sunday, as they’ve now lost just one game from their last five.

Daniel Ijeh’s late goal made all the difference for Abia Warriors as they defeated Kano Pillars, while Finidi George’s Enyimba fell to a 3-1 defeat against relegation-threatened Akwa United.

Gombe United welcome Shooting Stars to the Pantami Stadium tomorrow, and Rivers United were unable to play against Kwara United as they were involved in Continental football.
