“He’ll struggle” – Ex-Chelsea boss Sarri warns PSG-linked Victor Osimhen against leaving Napoli
Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri has issued a cautionary message to Victor Osimhen, advising him against departing from Napoli, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen, who has attracted the attention of multiple clubs, finds himself in the spotlight following a remarkable season in Italy.
The Nigerian striker’s outstanding performance, marked by 26 league goals, has made him a target for Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
His extraordinary achievement also propelled Napoli to their first Scudetto triumph in 33 years, further increasing his desirability.
A lucrative transfer seems imminent for the 24-year-old, as Napoli have set an eye-watering €150 million price tag on him.
Additionally, Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has expressed a strong desire to retain Osimhen’s services, while the Super Eagles forward himself has voiced his affection for the Napoli faithful and his lack of urgency to depart the club.
Maurizio Sarri, who previously managed Napoli before moving to Chelsea to win the Europa League, has offered his advice to Osimhen.
The experienced tactician believes that the unique and exhilarating experience Osimhen has found in Naples will be difficult to replicate elsewhere.
In an interview with Sportitalia (as per Tutto Napoli), Sarri shared his perspective, stating, “I don’t know what he (Osimhen) will do, but what he found in Naples, he won’t find again in his career.
“Naples is a unique and exhilarating experience; it makes you feel both the responsibilities and the affection, love, and total involvement. Osimhen will make his choices, but he will struggle to find what he experienced in Naples.”
While Osimhen has previously expressed his dream of playing in the highly competitive Premier League, the decision regarding his future remains uncertain.
