“Our thoughts at this time are with both supporters,” said Caernarfon Town FC as the incident unfolded

Three people have been arrested following crowd trouble that led to a Cymru Premier League game being abandoned at the weekend.

Two men aged 41 and 19 and a 15-year old male have been arrested.

The matter is being investigated by the Football Association of Wales (FAW).

North Wales Police are appealing to witnesses to come forward.

Detective Inspector Dean Jones said: “A 15-year-old male, a 19-year-old man and a 41-year-old man have been arrested in connection to the incident on suspicion of violent disorder and wounding with intent.

“They have all since been bailed pending further investigation.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident and has information that could assist with our investigation is asked to contact us on 101, or via the website, using reference A050936.”

Superintendent Nick Evans added an extensive investigation has now been launched in order to identify those involved in the disorder at the stadium to ensure all who contributed to the violence are prosecuted.

“Such scenes will not be tolerated and in addition to prosecutions, we will be seeking football banning orders to prevent those involved attending any future football matches,” he said.

“We are also working with the FAW to ensure such an incident is not repeated.”

An FAW official confirmed they are conducting their own investigation which is under way.

The disturbance took place around 15 minutes into the match and players were ordered off the field with the hosts leading 2-0.

Caernarfon said two of their fans were injured during the incident.

North Wales Police and British Transport Police were deployed at nearby Flint Train Station to prevent further disorder after the game.

Police also put a 24-hour dispersal order in place in Flint until 18:30 BST on Sunday, giving officers the power to stop any groups from gathering and requiring them not to return.

Flint Town said a decision on any potential new date for the fixture would be communicated in due course.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 17:40 on Saturday, 8 April to an incident at Flint Football Club.

“We deployed two rapid response vehicles, an emergency ambulance and were supported by Wales Air Ambulance.

“One patient was conveyed by air to University Hospital Aintree for further treatment.”
