Ed Sheeran purchases stake in Premier League newcomers and celebrates by joining Taylor Swift on stage at Wembley
Ed Sheeran celebrated his investment in Ipswich Town in style by joining Taylor Swift on stage at Wembley.
The British hitmaker acquired a minority stake in the Tractorboys on Thursday afternoon, a club that he’s a life-long supporter of.
Purchasing a 1.4 per cent stake in the club, Sheeran will have long-term use of an executive box at Portman Road.
However he will not join the board of the club with the arrangement described as ‘a passive and minority investment only’.
It’s an exciting time for Ipswich as they prepare for life back in the Premier League and Sheeran celebrated his investment in the only way that he knows how.

Just hours after Ipswich confirmed his new involvement in the club, Sheeran appeared on stage with Taylor Swift during her ERAS tour at Wembley Stadium.
A close friend of Swift, Sheeran performed alongside the global superstar to perform three songs in front of a sell-out crowd at the 90,000-seater stadium.
Speaking after his minority stake in Ipswich was announced, Sheeran said: “I am really excited to have bought a small percentage of my hometown football club.
“It’s any football fan’s dream to be an owner of the club they support, and I feel so grateful for this opportunity.
