David de Gea signs for new club as ex-Manchester United star takes large pay cut to return to football after a year out
David de Gea has returned to football after agreeing a deal to join Fiorentina, talkSPORT understands.
The former Manchester United goalkeeper has signed a one-year deal with the option for a one-season extension with the Serie A side.
He is expected to have taken a significant pay cut to join the Italian club in comparison to what he was on during his long Premier League career.
The 33-year-old was reported to be on £375,000-per-week at Old Trafford.
The long-serving goalie was released from Old Trafford in the summer of 2023 after the expiration of his contract, which coincided with his wedding to Edurne Garcia.

De Gea went on to make 545 appearances for Man United, winning the Premier League, the FA Cup and two League Cups during his time there.
