Conte could unearth his next Eden Hazard for Spurs by signing 96 G/A “crowd-pleaser”

Tottenham Hotspur return to competitive action on the 26th of December as they travel away to face Brentford in the Premier League.

Spurs are currently sitting fourth in the top-flight table and are in the knock-out stages of the Champions League, where they will face off against Italian giants AC Milan.

This means that they have plenty to play for, alongside the FA Cup, when the season resumes later this month and Antonio Conte will surely be hoping to land his first piece of silverware at the club.

The Italian head coach has won ten trophies since becoming a manager two of those came in England whilst he was at fellow London club Chelsea.

He won a Premier League title and an FA Cup with the Blues and Belgian winger Eden Hazard played a huge role in both of those successes.

The gem scored the winner in the FA Cup final against Manchester United and racked up 16 goals and five assists in 36 top-flight outings as they won the title together in 2016/17.

The winger produced outstanding numbers at the top end of the pitch whilst working with Conte at Stamford Bridge and the Italian could now unearth his next wing wizard by signing Andreas Skov Olsen in the upcoming January transfer window.

Should Spurs sign Skov Olsen?

In November, Nieuwsblad reported that Tottenham sent scouts to watch the attacker in action for Denmark at the World Cup in Qatar.

Brian Laudrup previously hailed the attacker, amidst links to Rangers earlier this year, as he told The Daily Mail (via The Sun):

“More or less every time he plays, the fans are out of their seats, thinking: ‘Something’s going to happen now’. If you are looking for a hug-the-line player, a real creative force, then Skov Olsen ticks the boxes.

Question 1. Scorer of one of England’s quarter-final goals in the 2018 World Cup, how much did Dele Alli cost Spurs back in 2015?

“He’s a crowd-pleaser. But an effective one, too. He’s not a type you see that often.”

Olsen has been on fire for Club Brugge since arriving in Belgium in January, scoring 14 goals and assisting 13 in 38 appearances in all competitions – including 11 goals and nine assists in 24 Pro League outings.

This means that he is averaging a goal contribution every 1.41 matches, whilst Hazard averaged one every 1.71 games for Chelsea under Conte with his 55 goals and assists in 94 clashes.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether or not the youngster will be able to translate those numbers over to the Premier League but his eight strikes and five assists in 25 caps for Denmark suggest that he has the potential to be a match-winner at the very top level.

Therefore, Olsen, who has 96 club career goal contributions in 192 matches, could be Conte’s next version of Hazard at Spurs if sporting director Fabio Paratici is able to snap him up in January.

The 22-year-old has plenty of time to develop and hone his skills and has already shown that he could have a similar impact to that of the Belgian wizard if he is able to adapt to Premier League football and thrive under the Italian’s coaching.
