Arsenal defender could push for January move
Arsenal go into the international break in fourth spot in the Premier League table after a 1-1 draw against London rivals Chelsea on Sunday.
The Gunners took the lead in the second half of a cagey encounter at Stamford Bridge, with Gabriel Martinelli putting the visitors in front.
Pedro Neto levelled things up shortly after, though, and neither side was able to find a winner.
The result kept the Blues a place ahead of the Gunners going into the final international break of 2024, and Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will hope to see his side kick on when the Premier League returns.
Leaders Liverpool hold a nine point lead over Arsenal, who have finished as runners-up to Manchester City in each of the past two seasons.
Off the pitch, one of Arsenal’s defenders appears to be nearing a move away from the club.
As per Football Insider, full-back Jakub Kiwior could push for a move away from The Emirates when the transfer window reopens in January.
The report claims that the 24-year-old could be offered a return to Serie A, where he previously played with former side Spezia before joining Arsenal in January last year.
Since then the full-back has played 45 times for the North London side across all competitions, but he has failed to start a single Premier League game so far this season.
Serie A champions Inter Milan are said to have shown interest in the Poland international, as well as fellow Italian sides AC Milan and Juventus.
Spanish outfits Villarreal and Sevilla are also said to be keeping tabs on the player’s situation.
Kiwior is contracted to the Gunners until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but the report suggests that he could push for a move away from London in the new year.
The Polish defender is able to operate at left-back or as a central defender, but there are players ahead of him in the pecking order of both positions in Arteta’s squad.
