Americans Abroad Weekend Preview: Adams, Pulisic, and more

Bournemouth has pulled several upsets at the Vitality Stadium this Premier League season and Saturday poses the threat of a new opportunity.

Tyler Adams and the rest of the Cherries welcome league-leading Liverpool to the South Coast. Adams has continued his rejuvenated run back in Andoni Iraola’s squad, starting in each of Bournemouth’s last four matches in all competitions. The 25-year-old has registered three assists in the last two matches combined, lopsided league victories over Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.

A healthy Adams is a major boost for Bournemouth, who remain well in the race for a European qualification spot this summer. The midfielder’s return should also bring a major smile to USMNT boss Mauricio Pochettino’s face, with the Americans set for competitive action in two months’ time.

Liverpool has only suffered one league defeat this season, but Bournemouth is riding a 12-match unbeaten run, and could hold its own at home against the Reds.

In Spain, Johnny Cardoso and Real Betis face Athletic Bilbao.

In Italy, Christian Pulisic leads AC Milan into a derby against Inter. Weston McKennie and Juventus host Empoli.

In Germany, Lennard Maloney and James Sands continue Bundesliga play with their new clubs.
