Americans Abroad Midweek Preview: Trusty, McKennie, and more

Scottish leaders Celtic remain alive in its UEFA Champions League Round of 32 tie but needs to deliver a strong performance in Munich to advance.

Auston Trusty and Celtic trail 2-1 on aggregate against Bayern Munich heading into Tuesday’s second leg at the Allianz Arena. Trusty logged the full 90 minutes last week in Glasgow alongside U.S. men’s national team teammate Cameron Carter-Vickers. The former MLS standout has remained a consistent performer for Celtic this season, logging 29 appearances across all competitions.

Michael Olise and Harry Kane both scored at Celtic Park last week and will be a tough duo for Brendan Rodgers’ defense to stop. Trusty will likely remain in Rodgers’ starting lineup but cannot afford to put a foot wrong if Celtic wants to stay in this season’s competition.

Elsewhere in Europe, Christian Pulisic and AC Milan host Feyenoord seeking a second leg win. Weston McKennie and Juventus visit PSV in UCL play. Johnny Cardoso and Real Betis seek Conference League advancement.

In Mexico, Alex Zendejas and Club America continue Liga MX play.
