Americans Abroad Midweek Preview: Musah, Pulisic, and more

AC Milan’s dreams of reaching the UEFA Champions League knockout stage could very well come to an end this week unless the Rossoneri pulls a major shock on home soil.

Yunus Musah, Christian Pulisic and the rest of Stefano Pioli’s men welcome Paris Saint-Germain to the San Siro, needing a victory to stay alive in the competition. Musah has started in all four of AC Milan’s matches since the October U.S. men’s national team camp, logging 77 minutes of more in each of those appearances. After a slow start to life in Milan, the 20-year-old Musah has continued to reap the rewards in the starting lineup.

Pulisic did not feature for the Rossoneri on Saturday after being left out of the squad due to a precaution. The USMNT star attacker registered one assist in last week’s 2-2 draw with Napoli before being substituted off at halftime. Pulisic returned to training on Sunday ahead of this week’s crucial UCL clash and will surely be needed if AC Milan wants to stay in the competition.

Elsewhere in Europe, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Celtic visit Atletico Madrid in UCL play. George Bello continues his run in the LASK starting lineup against Union St. Gilloise. Gio Reyna and Borussia Dortmund face Newcastle United.

In Italy, Kristoffer Lund and Palermo host Brescia in Serie B action.
