FBI Subang’s Septain Raharja died in a friendly soccer match in Indonesia on Saturday after being struck by lightning, per TMZ Sports. He was 35.
Raharja was reportedly still alive and breathing after being hit by the lightning strike but later died after being transported to a local hospital.
The match in question was between 2 FLO FC Bandung and FBI Subang at the Siliwangi Stadium in Bandung, West Java.
According to Richard Mills of Goal.com, it’s the second lightning strike during an Indonesian soccer match in the past year. A young player was hit by lightning during last year’s Soeratin Under-13 Cup in Bojonegoro, East Java, though he survived.
