Kaizer Chiefs have been offered advice on how to get the best out of Mduduzi Mdantsane as the club will be aiming for improved results in the coming games to get out of their current situation.

Chiefs will be at home to host AmaZulu on Saturday, still searching for their first win of the 2023/24 campaign.

In three games so far under head coach Molefi Ntseki, Amakhosi have drawn one and lost two and are 13th on the standings with only one point out of a possible nine.

Mdantsane featured in two of those fixtures, the 0-0 draw against Chippa United in the season opener and in last weekend’s 1-0 loss to TS Galaxy. The former Cape Town City star will be hoping to keep his place in the starting line-up for the Usuthu clash at FNB Stadium.

During his time with Baroka where he led the side as their captain, Mdantsane worked with Fani Mthethwa among other coaches at some stage, who was the assistant coach, and the mentor has offered advice to Chiefs on how to get the best out of the 28-year-old attacking midfielder.

“With Mdantsane we knew what we really wanted to achieve at Baroka and everything started at training. We had sessions just to address his situation and we conducted those sessions repeatedly until he and the other players understood what needed to be achieved. Whenever the ball went wide, he knew that he had to be just around D-line so that with anything that came out of there he would put it away,” said Mthethwa.

“Even now, if Mdantsane is in that area he is very dangerous. So in anything that you try to achieve, it must start at training and you must work, work and work many times until players understand it,” the coach added.
