Manchester United keeping tabs on free-scoring Nigeria striker

Gent striker Gift Orban may not honour the call-up to Nigeria's Under-23 team because his cl did not get an invitation letter from the NFF early.

The Nigerian star has been phenomenal this season, and Manchester United may be looking to swoop in for him

Former Premier League champions Manchester United sent scouts to watch Nigeria striker Gift Orban in their 4-0 victory over Cercle Brugge last week, Soccernet.ng reports.

Orban has been phenomenal for Gent since he joined the club in January. The Nigerian hitman has scored 19 goals in 19 appearances for the Buffaloes, helping them to the Jupiler League playoffs.

His performances have attracted interest from abroad, with Leeds and Barcelona linked to him. However, those are not the only teams that are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old striker.

According to Tribal Football, English giants Manchester United sent scouts to watch Orban in Gent’s 4-0 victory over Cercle Brugge in the Jupiler League playoffs.

Orban scored a hattrick in that game to help his side seal their third consecutive win in the playoffs.

Orban has never hidden his desire to play in the Premier League, and he would cost around €10million.

Manchester United are desperately searching for attacking options, and they could make a surprise swoop for the former Stabaek man next summer.
