Arsenal and Chelsea among clubs interested in proven Premier League forward

Arsenal will be hoping to end a run of four games without a win when they welcome struggling Chelsea to The Emirates on Tuesday evening. 

The Gunners have topped the Premier League table for the majority of the season so far but a run of three consecutive draws, followed by a 4-1 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday, saw the reigning champions knock them off top spot.

The visit of The Blues presents a good opportunity for Mikel Arteta’s side to return to winning ways, though, as Frank Lampard’s side are without a win in eight matches across all competitions.

They will undoubtedly be motivated for the game against their London rivals, though, so Arteta’s side will be wary of their opponents.

Now, it appears that the two sides could also bet set to battle it out in the boardroom in the coming months.

According to The Telegraph, both clubs are interested in Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha, who could be available on a free transfer this summer.

The Ivorian is set to be out of contract at the end of the current season, and a number of teams are reportedly interested in signing him.

As well as the two Premier League giants, Italian side Juventus and La Liga leaders Barcelona are also said to be monitoring him.

Zaha, 30, has spent the entirety of his senior career with Palace, with the exception of brief spells with Cardiff City and Manchester United.

The forward has established himself as one of the best players outside of the Premier League’s ‘top six’, but it appears increasingly likely that his time with the club will soon come to an end.

In total, Zaha has made 456 appearances for The Eagles across all competitions, scoring 90 goals and providing 76 assists.

His most recent goal came during Palace’s eventful 4-3 win over London rivals West Ham United at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Chelsea are certain to be in the market for attacking reinforcements this summer following what has already been a dismal campaign.

Only three teams have scored fewer than the 30 goals that The Blues have managed in the league so far this season, and owner Todd Boehly will undoubtedly therefore be looking to overhaul their current crop of attackers.
