Supercopa de España semifinals headline This Week’s Soccer on TV and Online

Supercopa de España semifinals headline This Week’s Soccer on TV and Online

As is the case for most seasons, Barcelona and Real Madrid are neck and neck in the Spanish power struggle.

They restarted league play separated only by goal differential, but Real Madrid’s upset loss to Villarreal and Barca’s win over Atletico Madrid gave handed them some clear space at the top of the La Liga table.

This week, they’ll be focused on the Supercopa de España semifinals, which could set the stage for an El Classico clash in the finale.

Los Blancos host Valencia on Wednesday, and Barcelona travels to Real Betis on Thursday in a game that both powerhouses should be able to take care of business.

Coppa Italia Round of 16 action also takes place this week, and Inter Milan looks to be the team to watch in Italy overall. Serie A action resumed over the weekend, and Inter overcame a nightmare matchup with Napoli to place them (and the rest of Italy’s elite) back in striking distance of the Scudetto. The big win should see the Nerazzurri flying high and able to overpower their Tuesday appointment with Parma.

In England, Chelsea will be happy to see someone other than Manchester City on the other side of the field after to consecutive unsuccessful contests against them last week. The Blues host Fulham on Thursday and another push in the wrong direction will make Graham Potter’s chair the hottest in all of Europe.
