The Albiceleste edged out the Netherlands on penalties last time out, but they will face a stiff test against Croatia.
Runners-up four years ago, Zlatko Dalic’s side eliminated Brazil after a dramatic shoot-out on Friday.
Kick-off is at 7pm GMT. Make sure you know how to watch World Cup 2022 (opens in new tab) wherever you are.
Team news
Scaloni will have to make use of the full Argentina squad (opens in new tab) on Tuesday, with Gonzalo Montiel and Marcos Acuna both suspended.
Nicolas Tagliafico will step in for Acuna at left-back, with Argentina likely to return to a four-man defence after lining up with three at the back against the Dutch.
There are no known absentees in the Croatia squad (opens in new tab) after Borna Sosa and Mislav Orsic shook off bouts of sickness.
Form
Argentina lost their first match in Qatar but have bounced back impressively, beating Mexico, Poland and Australia before their penalty shoot-out triumph over the Netherlands.
Croatia progressed from Group F as runners-up behind Morocco, before eliminating Japan and Brazil on penalties following 1-1 draws after extra time.
Referee
Daniele Orsato of Italy will be the referee for Argentina vs Croatia. You can find out more about the World Cup 2022 referees here (opens in new tab).

Players to watch / key battles
Needless to say, Messi is the key man for Argentina. He will look to drop into pockets of space between the lines, with Julian Alvarez occupying the centre-backs ahead of him.
Angel Di Maria could return to the starting XI with injury and he will be tasked with stretching the play on the right.
Croatia kept the ball away from Brazil for long periods on Friday and their midfield trio of Marcelo Brozovic, Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic will look to do the same here.

VPN guide
If you’re out of the country for the World Cup 2022, then you won’t be able to watch on your domestic streaming service as usual. The broadcaster knows where you are because of your IP address (boo!) and blocks you from watching it. You can use a VPN to get around that, though, without resorting to illegal feeds you’ve found on Reddit.
A Virtual Private Network (VPN), assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs, creates a private connection between your device and t’internet, meaning the service can’t work out where you are and will let you watch. And all the info going between is entirely encrypted, anonymous and safe – and that’s a result.
There are plenty of good-value options out there. For the World Cup 2022, FourFourTwo currently recommends:
