Spanish club interested in two Man United attackers
Manchester United host Ligue 1 side Lyon in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday evening.
The Red Devils were held to a 2-2 draw in France last week, and Ruben Amorim’s side were then beaten 4-1 by Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday.
This season has been a torrid one for United, who currently sit 14th in the Premier League and are set to miss out on European football next term unless they lift the Europa League.
Away from the action, it appears that two of United’s players are attracting interest from elsewhere.
As reported by TBR Football, La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are interested in both Antony and Alejandro Garnacho.
The report claims that the Spanish side are keen to re-sign Garnacho, who left Madrid for Manchester in 2022.
Since then the 20-year-old winger has netted 25 times in 135 games for the Red Devils, as well as registering 20 assists.
Antony, meanwhile, had endured a difficult spell at Old Trafford after following Erik ten Hag from Dutch side Ajax in 2022.
The Brazilian had struggled to establish himself as a regular in the first team, and was therefore sent on loan to Spanish side Real Betis in January this year.
Since then he has netted four times and provided the same number of assists in 15 games for his new side, and the report claims that Atletico have been keeping tabs on his performances since his arrival in Spain.
Betis will find it hard to agree a permanent deal for the 25-year-old this summer, the report claims, largely due to the finances that would be required not only to sign the player but also for his wages.
