Premier League: Wilfred Ndidi helpless as Leicester City rot continues with loss at Chelsea
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi played all 90 minutes as Leicester City succumbed to a painful 1-0 loss at Chelsea, Soccernet.ng reports.
Leicester City went into their game against Chelsea with a terrible record, losing 13 of their last 15 games in all competitions. The last time they won a game was a 2-1 win over Tottenham in January.
Super Eagles star Ndidi kept his place in Leicester City’s midfield, partnering Boubakary Soumare. It was always going to be an uphill task for the Foxes, and Chelsea took charge of the game from the start.
The Foxes could have gone a goal down in the opening 22 minutes after a bad tackle from Victor Kristiansen. But they had a major let-off as Cole Palmer, who took charge of the responsibility, missed a penalty for the first time in his senior career.

Chelsea continued to pile the pressure after their penalty miss, but Leicester City managed to stay afloat going into the break.
Unfortunately for the Foxes, they failed to keep their defence watertight. They eventually conceded in the 60th minute, courtesy of a brilliant strike from Marc Cucurella.

Unfortunately for Leicester City, that goal was just enough for Chelsea to get a 1-0 win. In recent months, Ndidi has been functioning in a more forward role, but he did not get any clear opportunity.

In his 90 minutes of action, Ndidi registered an 80 percent pass accuracy, five clearances and six tackles. But that was not enough to buy a win for Leicester City, as the loss sinks them deeper into the relegation zone.
Five in five: The future looks bleak for Wilfred Ndidi and his fellow Foxes

The loss to Chelsea was Leicester City’s fifth straight loss, and it leaves them five points away from safety.
It looks bleak for Leicester City at the moment, as they will still play tough sides like Manchester United, Manchester City, Newcastle, Brighton, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, and Bournemouth in their last ten games of the season.
Wilfred Ndidi may just be on his way to playing Championship football once again if the current trend continues.
