Champions League Draw: McKennie faces Ledezma, and more

The 13 remaining U.S. men’s national team players learned their fates for the UEFA Champions League knockout stage on Friday.

Eight two-legged series were determined in Switzerland as the competition now prepares for its next stage. The two-legged series will take place during the weeks of February 11-12 and Feb. 18-19.

Weston McKennie, Tim Weah and Juventus will take on Richie Ledezma and PSV. The pair of clubs met last September during the league-phase, which saw McKennie score once in a 3-1 home victory for Juventus.

Weah most recently featured at right back in Thiago Motta’s squad while Ledezma has played a key role in defense for PSV.

PSV forward Ricardo Pepi is set to miss the two-legged series following his knee injury suffered midweek. Defender Sergino Dest and midfielder Malik Tillman are also sidelined with respective injuries, although Dest should make his return before season’s end.

Christian Pulisic, Yunus Musah and AC Milan have been paired against Dutch club Feyenoord in the playoff round. Pulisic scored midweek in the Rossoneri’s 2-1 loss to Dinamo Zagreb while Musah was sent off for two yellow card offenses.

Gio Reyna, Cole Campbell and Borussia Dortmund will take on Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon. Reyna has continued to fight for opportunities this winter and should see more after registering one assist in a 3-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 18-year-old Campbell made his UCL debut in the league-phase, logging 13 minutes off of the bench.

Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty and Celtic have received one of the toughest draws in the playoff round. The Scottish Premiership leaders will take on Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.

Trusty featured in Wednesday’s 4-2 loss to Aston Villa while Carter-Vickers missed the match through a slight injury. Both defenders have played leading roles for the Glasgow-based club this season.

Folarin Balogun, who might not be 100% fit for Monaco, will try and play a part as the Ligue 1 side faces Benfica. Balogun has been sidelined since early-December due to a shoulder injury that has forced him to miss 20 matches for club and country.

Here is a full breakdown of the UCL playoff round schedule:
