Man United plotting move to sign PSG striker on loan
Manchester United will hope to build on their derby victory over Manchester City when they face Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Thursday.
Ruben Amorim’s side completed a dramatic late turnaround to beat the reigning Premier League champions on Sunday, and the Portuguese will hope to see his side reach the last four of the Carabao Cup by beating Spurs.
The Lilywhites, however, cruised to an impressive 5-0 win over Southampton last time out, and will undoubtedly provide a stern test for the Red Devils.
In the meantime, the January transfer window is fast approaching and it appears that Man United are eyeing a move for a Ligue 1 striker.
As reported by Football Insider, United are considering a January move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani.
The report claims that the Red Devils could rival German side RB Leipzig in the race to land the Frenchman on loan.
It is claimed that the 26-year-old will be made available for a loan move in the new year after falling out of favour in the French capital, and United are considering a move to sign the player.
Kolo Muani joined PSG from German side Eintracht Frankfurt last summer and has since played 58 times for the club across all competitions, scoring 14 goals.
He has scored just twice this season, and the French champions have therefore decided to allow him to leave the club in January.
United, however, will only be able to make loan bids for the player as they are under financial pressure following the expensive sacking of Erik ten Hag earlier this season.
The France international’s contract with PSG is set to run until the summer of 2028, but he looks increasingly likely to leave the club – temporarily at least – next month.
